DAYTONA, FLA, JAN 22 1886, on a cover to Manilius Seifel. Oviedo, Orange Co., Fla. (Scott U277, Design U67, Die U45.)
The octagonal SAINT AUGUSTINE FLA, JAN 23 is interesting in the this cover traveled a little north before it turned around and traveled south to Oviedo. Because the transit mark is at St. Augustine, which is on the St. Johns river, this cover probably traveled by steamer to Lake Jesup, then to Oviedo.
Here the handwritten "note" on the back is "Advertise & Appeal, Brunswick, Ga." Based on the previous cover, addressed to A.H. Seifel, Esq., there's some legal action going on.
